The Lifesource Blood Pressure Monitor – UA-853AC Stand-Up – This Workhorse just Works.

Many of my readers know that I really get into blood pressure monitor reviews. Being a long time member of the medical product review community, I know all too well, how dangerous not being proactive about your health can be. HCL (Health Care Laziness), as I like to call it, is all too common and it can literally rob you of years from your life.

Many people, some as young as in their forties, depend on blood pressure monitors to avoid, or cope with, hypertension. I don’t write these reviews, because I enjoy them; I write them because they provide information to people about important products. In fact, I honestly believe that no home should be without a blood pressure monitor.

Well enough of the sermon, we are here to review the Lifesource UA-853AC Premium Stand-Up Blood Pressure Monitor. Because I travel a lot, I like to review the more portable type BP monitors. Nonetheless, I have to admit that the larger monitors, like the UA-853AC are more accurate and have more features. This monitor does everything and more that you can ask from a home pressure monitor.

The Lifesource monitor boasts solid engineering and first-rate accuracy. It is not on the cheaper end of the BP monitor spectrum; however, it isn’t expensive either. For the plethora of features that the unit offers, this unit should be considered a good value.

My favorite feature of the Lifesource UA-853CP monitor is the Irregular Heartbeat Detection technology it uses. IHD is extremely useful in allowing users to receive early warnings about possible arrhythmia issues. IHD Detection information provided by the monitor will help a physician in properly charting a course of action I cannot begin to tell how very important this feature could prove for many people who suffer arrhythmia conditions. Having already been around a few years, the technology has proven effective in saving lives. Detecting arrhythmia issues early can help a patient stave off a potential heart attack or stroke.

The TimeWise system, used by the Lifesource UA-853AC, makes the monitor aware of both morning and evening BP readings, and is another very useful and informative feature. In addition, the monitor stores both morning and evening reading averages. This is very helpful in examining dosage levels. Those taking medication for high blood pressure or hypertension are aware that many times day and night dosages can vary. Taking these reports to your doctor will only to serve to make him more effective in your treatment.

The machine can also be programmed with 3 different alarm times; to remind you that you need to check your pressure (a very handy feature for the slightly absent minded like me). In addition, the monitor also provides for logging of your last ninety blood pressure readings. These logging and reporting results, enable your doctor better gauge the effectiveness of any potential medications. The display is very large and extremely easy to read (you won’t be reaching for your reading glasses for this one), and display results are easy to understand.

The Lifesource UA853AC is a solidly built machine designed for years use. Lifesource offers a full lifetime warranty on its BP monitors.

On the whole, the Lifesource Monitor UA-853AC is a premium quality Blood Pressure Monitor that gives you everything you would expect and more. Because of the size of the monitor, you probably won’t find it very suitable for quick trips; however, it will fit easily in large bags or suitcases.

With reasonable care and use, this Lifesource Monitor will provide you with years of quality and accurate Blood Pressure Results. The UA-853AC unit is moderately priced and is well worth the money. There is nothing fancy here; but nothing lacking either. It is a workhorse!

Blood pressure can be a significant indicant of the whole cardiovascular wellness. A usual blood pressure indication is a signal that the blood vessels are all in good working status, while a raised reading could mean a possible health trouble. The chance of getting risk of a stroke, heart attack or kidney disease and stress on blood vessels and heart may increased because of the prolonged high blood pressure.

More About High Diastolic Blood Pressure Reading

Blood pressure is indicated by two numbers in combination like 120/80. The second number is the diastolic reading. If the lower number rises among 80 and 89 then one is considered to have border high diastolic blood pressure, or pre-hypertension. For the high blood pressure diastolic reading, the number goes up above 90 and this may require treatment to bring the number back down. On the other hand, a first number of 130-139 is believed border high, and a number above 140 is high. In most of the cases, when the systolic pressure increases, there will be a high diastolic blood pressure reading as well. Nevertheless, there are some examples where the systolic pressure will increase on its own, while the diastolic number stays absolutely normal. This is known as isolated systolic high blood pressure, and is normally seen in aged patients.

If one has a high diastolic blood pressure reading then one will need to take necessary steps to bring the blood pressure back down to a regular level, to bring down the risk of other health problems in the future. These necessary steps also include lifestyle changes, such as following a healthy dieting, doing daily exercise and quitting the smoking habit. In some cases medicinal drug will also be required to lower high diastolic blood pressure reading as well. It is important to note down the high diastolic blood pressure symptoms to treat the disease as early as possible. It is important to note that medicine will not actually cure high blood pressure, but only control it as long as one is taking the medicine properly. For this reason, most of the patients who starts taking medicine for high blood pressure will be on it for life.

A high diastolic blood pressure reading is a significant health worries that should be talked about with the doctor. To help forbid the health dangers that come with high blood pressure, one must make sure that they have their blood pressure supervised periodically, and talk to their doctor about any changes to the readings.

The trouble with high blood pressure is that this is a silent killer that often develops without giving you any warning signs of high blood pressure that will let you know that your otherwise good health has been compromised and what’s more, even if you have been feeling good, there is always a danger underfoot that can only be identified through monitoring your blood pressure and also through having check-ups done periodically.

Warning Signs Of High Blood Pressure Includes Blood Pressure Readings To Lookout For

Typically, the warning signs of high blood pressureinclude a blood pressure reading of one hundred and forty by ninety mm Hg or even higher. If these are your blood pressure readings then you should treat these readings as a warning signs of high blood pressure and you should then take immediate remedial action. Many other serious diseases may occur due to the negligence of warning signs of high blood pressure.

Normal blood pressure readings are one hundred and twenty by eighty mm Hg or less; in case your blood pressure reading stands between one hundred and twenty by eighty and one hundred and thirty-nine by eighty-nine you will be at a stage when hypertension can develop at any time. Readings of one hundred and forty by ninety mm Hg and above are warning signs of high blood pressure and must be acted upon without delay.

It is not just elevated levels of blood pressure that are dangerous because even low blood pressure readings are dangerous. However, whenever your blood pressure levels rise above the one hundred and forty by ninety mm Hg you can be sure that you have begun experiencing warning signs of high blood pressure and this should let you know that your health has been seriously compromised.

Frequent check-ups are the best way to identify warning signs of high blood pressure at an early stage. It is good for your health to get your blood pressure examined at least once a year so that you can take prevention before the problem of high blood pressure starts.

It is also recommended that you look out for physical symptoms of high blood pressure and in case you notice any such symptoms you should immediately make an appointment with your general practitioner who will then have to diagnose your condition. The only trouble is that in many cases there are hardly any physical symptoms that will warn you of your elevated blood pressure condition and that are why high blood pressure is referred to as a silent killer of a disease.

When medical professionals refer to blood pressure they are describing the force applied by the stream of blood within the body on the walls of the blood vessels. A cuff and measuring gauge are generally used to determine an individual’s blood pressure. Measurements are taken in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). Two separate measurements are always taken. Systolic blood pressure is the force exerted on the walls of the blood vessels while the heart is contracting. Diastolic blood pressure is the force exerted on the blood vessels while the heart is at rest.

Every individual’s blood pressure tends to vary up and down and can actually change from one heart beat to the next. In order to determine a person’s average blood pressure it is necessary to take more than one measurement at various times of day over a period of time.

If a person maintains normal blood pressure he or she is less likely to develop cardiovascular problems or other health complications. Blood pressure that is abnormally high or low can lead to potentially fatal problems. Therefore it is very important to make sure that your health care provider checks your blood pressure regularly.

Healthy Blood Pressure Levels

Healthy blood pressure has a systolic measurement of between 90 and 119. It has a diastolic measurement of 60-79. People with low average measurements are less prone to health complications associated with hypertension and hypotension. Children have lower blood pressure than adults. Generally the older you are the higher your blood pressure is likely to be.

Blood Pressure Prehypertension

If more than one test indicates that you have a blood pressure reading of between 120/80 and 139/89 you have what is called prehypertension. This means that you are at risk of developing hypertension. If you have prehypertension you should make certain lifestyle amendments in the interest of maintaining your health. For instance you should get down to a healthy weight, exercise more and avoid nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, sugar, saturated fats and sodium wherever possible.

Blood Pressure Hypertension

There are two stages of hypertension or high blood pressure. Stage one hypertension is a measurement between 140/90 and 159/99. There are various prescription medications that can be taken to correct the problem of stage one hypertension and the same lifestyle amendments that are used to treat prehypertension are necessary. People with hypertension are at increased risk of heart attack, stroke, heart failure, aneurysm, kidney failure and eye problems.

Stage two hypertension is a measurement of 160/100 or more. People who have elevated hypertension are at particularly high risk of the aforementioned health problems. They require rapid and aggressive medical treatment if they are to avoid having a massive heart attack or stroke.

Blood Pressure Hypotension

Hypotension is the term used to describe low blood pressure. A low measurement varies from one individual to the next. In other words, a person with a diastolic pressure of 60 may experience no adverse symptoms while the next individual may start to react badly if theirs reaches as low as 70. A severe case of hypotension is dangerous because it means that the oxygen and vital nutrients in the bloodstream are not reaching vital organs. This can cause organ damage or failure. In some extreme cases it can cause coma or death.

Hypotension has numerous potential causes including pregnancy, certain medications, blood loss, inadequate nutrition, dehydration and septicemia. You can reduce your risk of developing hypotension by eating a healthy diet with sufficient calories, vitamins and minerals and drinking plenty of water.
