SD Camera Memory Cards

Cameras are revolutionizing the world of professional and home photography in the digital age. Just as a traditional camera is married to film, digital cameras are married to it’s camera memory card. Using memory cards in the best way can have an impact on your enjoyment of digital photography.

The capacity of flash memory cards is measured in MB (megabytes) or GB (gigabytes) and is the amount of date that can be stored. Higher capacity for digital data storage is indicated on the card, the higher the number the more room for images and videos. Larger memory files or larger capacity camera memory cards of 512 megabytes or 1 gigabyte are recommended if you’re planning on working with RAW images on a regular basis.

RAW files can be from 10 to 20 MB’s, while JPEGS are usually 1 to 4 MB’s in size. If shooting JPEGS, it‘s a good idea to always use the high quality setting so you have a great photo image to share or to work with when using editing software.

Establishing a location for backups or by using multiple digital camera memory cards for safely storing images is highly recommended to guard against loss of all of your images if the care were to be corrupted.

A good recommended memory card size to have is at least 512 megabyte for your digital camera for storing images safely. Most camera’s are well served by a card that is at 512 MB in size, this will allow them to store up to 200 images depending on the image content and the camera’s settings.

The higher resolution of the camera, the lower your available space is for the amount of images the memory card can hold. You can determine the size of the camera memory card that you need by determining how many images you want it to be able to store or to save before transferring, and what resolution you will be using for your cameras photos.

Commercial digital cameras utilize SD formatted sized memory cards and can also use Micro SD cards as long as it has an SD adapter, which allows for multiple applications of this Micro sized memory card.

Professional digital cameras commonly referred to as SLR’s or DSLR’S use either SD cards or compact flash digital camera memory cards. High end cameras create photos of high quality standards, many photogs utilize a compact flash card with fast write and read speeds for high mega pixel resolution shots. So if a photographer is shooting photos in rapid succession, a high performance compact flash card will be ready to capture and store these high resolution images without any delay.

The first step to begin understanding photography lighting is to understand the measuring of light.

A primary purpose of a photography lighting system is to illuminate a subject to allow for and achieve a desired affect or to properly capture an image.High quality photography is produced through the use of lighting, in the hands of a good photographer they can be able to produce amazing results with illumination.

Photo lighting kits can be utilized to add light to an otherwise dull subject or image and make it come to life in a brilliant photo.  Almost everything we do as photographers is about changing or controlling light.Many camera owner's wish that they could have some measure of control over the on camera flash because it can be difficult to create quality photo's with it simply because of it's placement and or it's brightness. Not only are most flash’s on standard camera’s too bright at such a close distance, but it is also probably in the wrong position to actually light up the subject or product properly.

On camera flashes are also ineffective at lighting up things at a distance. Getting good photographs consistently as most photographer's know requires deliberately lighting what you are shooting with a quality light source .  Photographer’s utilize not only flash, but may often use a fluorescent photo lighting kit or one of three types of halogen lighting kits for the desired affect and outcome of their photos.  Both fluorescent and a halogen photo lighting create a continuous light source, where as flash simply follows it’s namesake and is thus not continuous lighting.Artificial lighting such as studio lighting or flash bulbs can either minimize a certain feature or draw attention to it. Amateur photographer's often find that their subjects end up with red eyes or harch bursts of light using the on camera flash.

Once you have proper photography lighting, it is important for the camera that you are using to be able to read shade.Centering the frame to the shady area instead of the bright spot behind the subject will not make subject appear as a silhouette.Simply practice this to soften and lesson shadows created by your light source.

Available natural lighting can produce very interesting patterns of light.Using the natural daylight, photographer's often work as quickly as possible to capture various moods of lighting throughout the day.

One of the most amazing and little talked about programs that I have used is 3D Flash Animator, aka 3DFA.  This program shines in the ability to make flash simple and easy with the capability to write Actionscript 3.0.

The program has the abilty to create games, slides shows, web ads, and full fledged interactive websites. Animations are easy to create and have the abilty to add interactivity to it.

As the name implies, 3DFA imports 3D objects, such as 3DS and obj, into it.Easily import Animations, vectors, and bitmaps.  Another great attribute is its ability to import video and audio.

The program adding elements are made fairly easy with a few clicks of the mouse. Tools provided allows quick and easy vector illustrations.It does not have the ability to change a continuous lines to various widths.

Masking items is made simple with a couple click of the mouse.  You choose mask, then the item that you want to mask from you list of elements that you have either imported or created, that’s it.

Many presets are already available.  Buttons, radios, scroll bar, and menus are among the presets.

I have used this program to create interective websites, display video, slide show photos, animated headers for websites, and web ads.  All of these in a fraction of time it would take me to develop them in the much more exspensive versions of flash creation tools.

Finally, 3D Flash Animator allows you to save as a flash page with html page attached, gif animation, Windows screensaver, Windows executable, and Scalable Vector Grapics.
