The Pedicure That Made A Millionaire

Sarah Whiting from Sussex in England would have to say she is a lucky person. There is nothing particularly special about her. She grew up in not a particularly wealthy family and didn’t get a great education in her school years. She did however have an ambition to to become a beauty therapist and worked hard for a couple of years to gain her qualifications. She even wrote a letter to the head of department at the college pleading to be accepted on to the course. It paid off and she was accepted to the beauty course, which included being taught how give facials, massage and do lots of other spa treatments.

When she finished her course she got a job in her home town of Littlehampton in a luxury health and beauty spa. The spa was very high class and initially Sarah worried that she might not fit in. The staff were very friendly however and she soon found herself at home and enjoying her work. When the girls had free time in their day the beauty manager would them give each other treatments, which helped staff moral and make the girls look presentable for their client.

Last December Sarah, 24 and her friend Carly had some free time in their schedule and asked if they could give each other a pedicure. The treatment manager let them and so when they both went in to do their next treatments, their feet were looking better than ever.  Sarah next client was a man in his 30’s who had come with a friend on a spa day and had an hour’s massage booked in. Sarah new she liked him straight away, he was pretty good looking and very polite. When the man was face down having is back massaged, he saw her toes and said “you really do have the most beautiful feet in the world”. Sarah was flattered and when the man asked if she would go for a meal with him after work she quickly accepted. After a couple of weeks later the man, unnamed, asked for Sarah’s hand in marriage (not before asking her father of course). She accepted.

Only when the couple has been together a number of weeks did the man reveal that he had a multi-million pound business that he recently took over from his father. He also later told Sarah that it was her feet that captured his heart. “It showed that you look after yourself” he said, “and that you cared about looking good for your clients”. He stated that although he fell in love with her personality, he wouldn’t have noticed her if not for the pedicure. The wedding is planned for later this year as is said to be costing in the region of 1 million pounds
